Teenage Pregnancy Europe, Sep 4, 2013 · To study cross-country and regional variations and trends in reported teenage pregnancies in the context of legislation and youth sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services in Europe. Data were collected on teenage live births and induced abortions, abortion legislation and youth SRH services. This fact sheet draws on adolescent pregnancy data, primarily for 2008–2011, for countries in which complete or incomplete data on the rate of abortions was available at the time of writing. In contrast, Western Europe, Europe and Central Asia, and North America had some of the lowest adolescent birth rates. The rates of teenage pregnancy may vary widely within a country. A comprehensive literature review was conducted. This annual updates includes statistical information on teenage pregnancies based on age at conception. Information on rates of abortion, birth and miscarriage were used to calculate pregnancy rates. Data and analysis on the frequency of teen pregnancies in various countries, as well as info on which countries have the highest rates of teen pregnancy in the world, such as Niger, Mali, and Angola.
